Embedded Software Engineer / Consumer Electronics & Applied AI

What you will do

• Contribute to embedded software architecture and design from concept through deployment.
• Implement firmware and software for microcontrollers and System-on-Modules across bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux environments.
• Integrate BLE, Wi-Fi, and Zigbee/Thread connectivity stacks for mass-produced consumer products.
• Deploy pre-trained models for edge AI inference, integrate vendor AI/NPU SDKs, and build sensor data pipelines for AI or cloud systems.
• Write unit, integration, and system-level tests; debug hardware/software issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Prepare requirements, design notes, and test reports while collaborating with customer engineering teams.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least three years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Strong C/C++ and Python programming skills for embedded systems.
• Practical experience with RTOS and/or bare-metal environments.
• Experience with embedded Linux, such as Yocto, on System-on-Module platforms.
• Experience integrating BLE, Wi-Fi, and Zigbee/Thread connectivity stacks.
• Hands-on experience applying AI on embedded platforms.
• Ability to work independently, openness to mentorship from senior engineers, clear cross-disciplinary and customer communication, and adaptability to new technologies.
• Fluent English is required. German is a plus.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of electronics, including analog/digital circuits and schematic reading.
• Knowledge of product compliance and safety standards such as IEC 60335 or equivalent.
• Experience with edge AI frameworks such as TensorFlow.
• Experience using LLM-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
• Knowledge of the Rust programming language.
