AI Automation Engineer

Location: Hybrid from Chiasso, Switzerland; candidates must be legally authorised to work in Switzerland and must not require visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, and scale production-grade workflows on a self-hosted n8n Enterprise platform running on AWS EKS.
• Develop custom AI applications and tools supporting business processes across departments.
• Integrate OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, and other AI platforms with existing systems through APIs, n8n, and custom connectors.
• Support and extend the Company Context / Universal RAG Knowledge Base, including document ingestion, retrieval quality, and access governance.
• Build NLP, generative AI, virtual assistant, chatbot, recommendation, content personalisation, dashboard, and reporting solutions.
• Monitor performance, update code, retrain models, and collaborate with data engineers, DevOps, and developers to ensure scalable and reliable systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on AI development experience, including shipped AI solutions with measurable business impact.
• Experience with n8n or similar low-code automation platforms such as Make or Zapier, including self-hosted or enterprise deployments.
• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript.
• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic workflows.
• Experience with retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, and document ingestion pipelines.
• Strong understanding of APIs, cloud infrastructure, and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and the full software development lifecycle.
• Comfort working with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker, Kubernetes, and serverless architectures.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues using logs, development tools, or pattern matching; understanding of authentication, authorisation scopes, and secure credential handling.
• Ability to own solutions from idea through deployment and clearly present technical concepts and live demonstrations.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
