Agent Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in the New York City or San Francisco office, United States

Base salary: $140,000–$200,000 per year in NYC; total compensation also includes equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Work with customers to understand goals, workflows, and AI visibility challenges.
• Translate ambiguous needs into concrete agent-based use cases with measurable business impact.
• Design agents for AI visibility alerts, competitor ranking, content gaps, content drafting, and content analysis.
• Configure and build agents by connecting workflow nodes, APIs, data sources, and outputs.
• Rapidly prototype and deploy customer solutions in a forward-deployed model, owning outcomes and handoffs to Engineering when needed.
• Turn successful deployments into repeatable practices and provide Product and Engineering feedback on roadmap priorities.

Requirements

• Experience in client-facing consulting, solutions, strategy, implementation, or customer success roles.
• Comfort working with ambiguity and early-stage products.
• Strong problem-framing skills and the ability to turn vague goals into concrete plans.
• Technical fluency without being a full-time engineer, including experience with low-code or no-code tools, workflows, scripts, or APIs.
• Hands-on experimentation with AI tools, agents, or automation systems.
• Clear communication skills for translating between customers and engineers.
• Enjoyment of customer-embedded work and ownership of outcomes end to end.

Nice to have

• Experience with tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
• Background as a strategy consultant with technical projects, solutions architect, forward-deployed engineer, or operator who has built internal tools.
