Sr. Associate Counsel (Fintech)

Location: US - Foster City, CA; at least 3 days in the office required

Salary: $180,600–$289,300 USD per year, potentially including sales incentive payments; bonus and equity may also apply.

What you will do

• Advise product management, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams on hirify.global Acceptance Solutions products and services, including hirify.global Acceptance Platform, Cybersource, Authorize.Net, and other value-added services.
• Support the full product lifecycle from ideation and design through launch, operation, enhancement, and retirement.
• Review products, features, enhancements, product terms, service descriptions, API and developer terms, implementation guides, marketing materials, and external communications.
• Identify and address legal, regulatory, privacy, IP, securities, disclosure, data use, and competition law issues.
• Assess regulatory changes and partner with compliance, privacy, risk, and security teams to develop practical product requirements and controls.
• Support global rollouts and localization, advise on transactional matters, and coordinate outside counsel when needed.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, at least 2 years with an advanced degree, or 0 years with a PhD.
• Valid license to practice in the state where the job is located, or ability to become state-registered in-house counsel in good standing.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, significant workloads, and multiple clients with minimal supervision.
• Strong judgment, analytical, organizational, client counseling, negotiation, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively and engage directly with business clients at all levels.

Nice to have

• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, 4 or more years with an advanced degree, or up to 3 years with a PhD.
• Combination of in-house and law firm experience and strong academic credentials, including a J.D. or international equivalent.
• Product counsel experience advising product and engineering teams on technology, SaaS, API-based, or platform products.
• Experience in payments, financial services, technology, fintech, or financial regulation.
• Knowledge of privacy and competition laws and experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Business acumen, practical problem-solving ability, strong work ethic, and experience driving complex global product initiatives.
