Assistant General Counsel (Fintech)

Location: Remote - United States; minimal travel, generally 12 days or less per year, including approximately two team gatherings.

Salary: $150K–$170K annually.

What you will do

• Support a West Coast growth team in revenue-generating contract negotiations.
• Structure, draft, review, and negotiate complex B2B SaaS, technology, customer, vendor, partnership, and other commercial agreements.
• Provide legal guidance to senior leadership and business units on contract terms, regulatory compliance, business implications, and risk management.
• Lead strategic partnership and contract negotiations and coordinate approvals with internal stakeholders.
• Develop legal policies and operational procedures, and deliver contract training to Sales, Client Experience, Business Development, Legal, and new-hire audiences.
• Manage contract disputes through negotiation and supervise external counsel within budget constraints.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active state bar membership in good standing.
• At least 3 years of in-house attorney experience focused on drafting, analyzing, and negotiating a wide variety of contracts.
• Experience negotiating technology contracts, particularly B2B SaaS agreements.
• Strong command of contract law and intellectual property principles related to SaaS and technology products.
• Excellent communication, writing, analytical, negotiation, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
• Professionalism, discretion, integrity, and the ability to manage sensitive information and negotiations.
• Ability to prioritize multiple complex contracts and tasks in a fast-paced environment, collaborate across organizational levels, and use legal operations software and related business applications.
