Counsel (Public Sector Contracts)

Location: United States (Remote); U.S. citizenship required

Base salary for U.S.-based candidates: $121,400–$218,600/year. Candidates outside the U.S. may receive different compensation.

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate sales contracts and other commercial documents with customers and partners globally.
• Support public sector sales with teaming agreements, NDAs, subcontractor agreements, and proposal responses.
• Negotiate contracts with federal, state, local, and education customers, directly and through resellers, including government-specific terms.
• Advise global cross-functional and Legal Department partners on commercial and public sector contract matters.
• Apply legal and business policies consistently and contribute to improving Legal Department performance.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience practicing law in private practice or in-house, working with technology or telecommunications clients or equivalent.
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school; admission or licensure to practice in a relevant jurisdiction; and attorney in good standing.
• U.S. citizenship required because the role supports U.S. government contracts with access restrictions.
• Public sector contracting experience required, including commercial software, SaaS, or cloud services contracts with government customers.
• Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation and agency supplements, particularly DFARS, including clause applicability and flow-downs to commercial item or commercial service contracts.
• Strong written and oral English communication skills, including concise contract drafting and legal negotiation.
• Experience with commercial law, intellectual property rights, privacy and data protection, and practical legal support for Sales teams.
