Commercial Legal Director (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States; Hawaii excluded

Salary: $254K–$282K plus equity

What you will do

• Lead strategy, negotiation, and execution for SaaS, technology licensing, partnership, marketing, services, agency, and other commercial agreements.
• Develop negotiation standards, playbooks, templates, and contracting policies.
• Advise on AI, machine learning, intellectual property, data privacy, security, and evolving regulatory issues.
• Improve contracting workflows, governance, and analytics using Ironclad and AI-enabled tools.
• Partner with engineering, product, marketing, finance, and people leaders to evaluate risk and resolve complex challenges.
• Identify emerging legal and commercial risks, develop forward-looking solutions, and engage outside counsel when needed.

Requirements

• J.D. and 8+ years of relevant law firm and/or in-house legal experience, including substantial ownership of complex technology transactions and commercial matters.
• Expertise negotiating sophisticated SaaS, licensing, partnership, and technology agreements.
• Deep understanding of AI-related commercial legal issues, including enterprise risk, intellectual property, data privacy, and security.
• Experience establishing legal contracting standards, playbooks, and scalable operational frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Ironclad or a comparable contract lifecycle management platform.
• Strong commercial judgment and the ability to communicate practical recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech or financial services, AI/ML technologies, cloud services, and advertising or marketing transactions.
