Senior MEP Engineer (Mechanical)

Location: Remote in the United States; travel required at 10–15%.

Compensation: $99,750–$115,500 annually.

What you will do

• Design HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, system sizing, energy analysis, code review, schematics, schedules, specifications, and construction details.
• Direct modeling and drafting activities, coordinate BIM deliverables, and quality-check mechanical work.
• Create and execute project sprint plans, defining deliverables, dependencies, estimated hours, priorities, and risk communication.
• Manage construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, substitutions, field conditions, site visits, punch lists, and closeout activities.
• Coordinate with clients and architectural, structural, electrical, civil, and specialty disciplines while advising on system selection, lifecycle, constructability, energy performance, and tradeoffs.
• Contribute to standards, specifications, calculation tools, best practices, continuing education, mentoring, and technical development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Typically 8+ years of progressive mechanical building-systems design experience, including independent project execution and construction administration.
• Experience developing coordinated construction documents and communicating directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Revit and discipline-specific calculation, energy-modeling, and specification tools.
• Experience with multiple project types and delivery methods.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, energy, fire/life-safety, and accessibility codes and standards.
• Experience mentoring technical staff and improving design standards or workflows.
