Project Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor (Infrastructure)

Location: Site-based role at Peterhead, United Kingdom; the employer also lists London, GBR.

What you will do

• Build effective H&S communication and working relationships with the construction team, client, supply chain and external stakeholders.
• Support the development, implementation and maintenance of the H&S management system in line with contractual requirements and ISO 45001.
• Identify and mitigate H&S risks from conceptual design through construction, including leading H&S strategies and promoting a positive safety culture.
• Communicate H&S plans, policies, procedures and initiatives throughout the supply chain and monitor performance through measurement and trend analysis.
• Conduct inspections and audits, monitor close-out actions, and identify barriers and opportunities for improved operational performance.
• Lead or participate in accident investigations, document evidence and support meaningful remedial actions.

Requirements

• NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Thorough knowledge of OHSAS 45001 standards and valid IOSH membership.
• Ability to deliver internal health and safety management courses.
• Ability to provide day-to-day health and safety advice on site.
• Ability to conduct standard accident investigations on the host site.
• Ability to write site inspection and audit reports.

Nice to have

• Previous experience as an H&S Advisor on infrastructure projects; other practicing Health and Safety experience will also be considered.
