Counsel, International (EMEA) (Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid in London, England, with remote options in Ireland or Germany; time spent in the Old Street office is expected for London-based candidates.

What you will do

• Advise German operations on healthcare and pharmacy regulations, e-commerce compliance, digital health, marketing, and day-to-day legal matters.
• Construct practical legal frameworks for complex, novel, or undefined regulatory challenges using first-principles analysis.
• Translate complex legal risks into concise, commercially pragmatic guidance for business leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Advise on German, Dutch, and pan-European pharmacy regulations, telemedicine, prescribing workflows, healthcare compliance, privacy, AMG, and HWG.
• Mitigate commercial risk, negotiate partner and vendor agreements, and support advertising, competition, and UWG-related matters.
• Partner with the international launch team to expand existing operations and launch Hims & Hers in new European markets.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in the UK, Germany, or Ireland; other EU jurisdictions may be considered by exception.
• Approximately 5+ years of post-qualified experience in a top-tier law firm, technology company, or fast-growing digital health or telehealth business.
• Ability to solve novel and ambiguous legal problems by applying first principles and developing creative, compliant approaches.
• Commercial judgment to balance legal requirements with business priorities while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Ability to communicate complex healthcare and consumer law clearly and concisely to non-lawyers.
• Ability to work autonomously, take ownership, and prioritize effectively in a high-velocity environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with German or European pharmacy regulations, digital health or e-health law, or Germany’s unfair competition environment.
• GDPR experience, particularly in a healthcare context.
• German language skills.
