Chinese Game Localization Linguists (AI/MTPE)

Company

Ongoing and upcoming multilingual game localization projects requiring freelance linguists across several language pairs.

What you will do

• Translate, edit, and proofread UI text, dialogues, quests, storylines, item descriptions, and other in-game content.
• Review and improve AI-generated and machine-translated content for accuracy, fluency, consistency, and natural expression.
• Correct linguistic errors, mistranslations, terminology inconsistencies, and cultural issues.
• Maintain project terminology, tone, and style guidelines while identifying culturally sensitive content.
• Collaborate with project managers, developers, and localization teams on high-quality deliverables.
• Support linguistic quality assessments and other localization tasks as required.

Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in the target language and excellent comprehension of the source language.
• Professional experience in translation, editing, proofreading, or localization, preferably in gaming.
• Practical experience with AI-assisted translation, MTPE, LLM-generated content review, or AI translation quality evaluation.
• Strong knowledge of gaming terminology, localization conventions, and cultural nuances.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and meet agreed project deadlines.
• Passion for video games and familiarity with relevant game genres.
• Open language pairs include English to Simplified Chinese, Korean to Simplified Chinese, Korean to English, English to German, and English to Ukrainian.

Nice to have

• Experience localizing fantasy games, RPGs, MMORPGs, or narrative-driven games.
• Familiarity with Trados Studio, memoQ, Phrase, or equivalent CAT tools.
• For Korean to English projects: excellent Korean comprehension and native-level English writing skills.
