Senior Accountant

Location: Apple Valley, Minnesota, United States

Salary: $92,000–$108,000 annually, plus a 15% annual target bonus.

What you will do

• Support accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Manage accounting for purchased loan and certificate pools, investments, subsidiaries, and property management activities.
• Prepare investment journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, cash positions, and activity and performance reports.
• Prepare and review foundation and property management financials, Federal Reserve reports, and complex general ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Support mortgage sale activities, audits, accounting projects, policy updates, and process improvements.
• Provide accounting guidance and collaborate with portfolio managers, investment professionals, supervisors, managers, and staff across departments and branches.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience are required.
• Detailed knowledge of GAAP, accounting standards, and accounting policies and procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of general ledger functions and month-end and year-end close processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge is required.
• High accuracy and attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate effectively with employees at all levels, multitask, and remain professional under pressure.
• Ability to build member-focused solutions, collaborate toward shared objectives, take on challenging opportunities with urgency, and adapt to changing situations.
• Compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and Bank Secrecy Act requirements.
