Corporate Accounting Supervisor (Insurtech)

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States. Onsite five days per week for the first three months, followed by a hybrid schedule over the next three months. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $82,000–$95,000 USD annual pay range, plus an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Supervise monthly and annual close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
• Review monthly financial statements and ensure the accuracy and integrity of corporate accounting records under GAAP.
• Support lender reporting, debt covenant compliance, year-end financial audits, tax filings, and related financial schedules.
• Support acquisition accounting for mergers and acquisitions and complete special projects and financial analyses.
• Supervise staff accountants by reviewing work, providing coaching, and delivering performance feedback.
• Maintain internal controls and drive accounting process improvements to support scalability and growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 5–8 years of accounting experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with team members and provide customer service to clients.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and accounting systems.
• Willingness to work in the Carlsbad, California office and legal authorization to work in the United States.
