Senior Technical Accountant (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States. Onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under applicable U.S. export regulations.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year.

What you will do

• Manage daily accounting activities, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, account and bank reconciliations, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, expense reporting, and accounts payable and receivable support.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes and prepare schedules and analyses for the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
• Investigate balance-sheet discrepancies and prepare financial reporting packages, management analyses, and documentation in accordance with US GAAP and company policies.
• Support accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, audits, tax activities, external reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash reporting.
• Contribute to accounting-system enhancements, process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting-process implementation.
• Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting and financial-reporting needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and full-cycle accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience supporting monthly close and financial reporting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or similar systems, plus Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to handle confidential financial information discreetly.
• Must be a U.S. Person or eligible to obtain an applicable U.S. export license because of ITAR and EAR requirements.

Nice to have

• CPA, CPA-eligible status, or progress toward CPA licensure.
• Public accounting experience, including Big Four or regional firm experience.
• Experience in a startup, aerospace, technology, manufacturing, or other high-growth environment.
• Experience with accounting-system implementations, process improvement, automation, ERP systems, and integrating accounting data from operational systems.
• Experience supporting audits, tax filings, external reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or financial analysis.
• Experience documenting processes and developing effective internal controls.
