AI Engineer

Salary: Up to £135,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, deploy, and harden production-grade AI agents and intelligent systems on cloud-native architecture.
• Own significant delivery areas across the software lifecycle within a Build-Operate-Transfer model.
• Contribute to shared AI capabilities including agent orchestration, tool use, retrieval-based systems, evaluation, observability, and guardrails.
• Work with product owners and business stakeholders to turn ambiguous problems into measurable outcomes.
• Champion code and design reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Strong cloud-native experience with AWS or an equivalent platform and containerised microservices.
• Experience building AI-enabled or agentic systems in production or near-production environments.
• Familiarity with modern AI engineering patterns including orchestration, RAG, evaluations, monitoring, and guardrails.
• Strong system design skills, including experience building APIs, data models, and service interfaces.
• Ability to explain complex AI concepts clearly to technical and business audiences.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
