Senior Applied AI Engineer

Location: 100% remote with flexible hours

Salary: 26,000–33,000 PLN net + VAT monthly on a B2B contract

What you will do

• Design and develop LLM-powered systems from prototypes through production.
• Diagnose and improve AI systems by analysing code, data, logs, and execution traces.
• Choose between simple workflows and agentic architectures, and build evaluations and regression tests.
• Run experiments comparing quality, cost, latency, and reliability; evaluate models, tools, and approaches for production use.
• Build backend services and API integrations with validation, error handling, logging, and monitoring.
• Define requirements and acceptance criteria with clients, communicate technical decisions, and provide technical direction, reviews, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering skills and experience building production applications.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, tool calling, structured outputs, and multi-step workflows.
• Experience with RAG, vector search, or agent-based architectures.
• Experience building backend services and APIs, preferably with FastAPI, plus automated testing, Git, and code review.
• Practical experience with LLM evaluation and observability, including quality, failure, latency, and cost measurement.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound architectural trade-offs.
• Experience providing technical guidance through architecture decisions, code reviews, and mentoring.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical decisions, challenging assumptions, and working with clients and engineers.
• Comfort using AI-powered coding assistants such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude; Polish at C2 and English at C1 are required.
