AI Engineer (Cross-Skilling Program)

Location: Hybrid in Amsterdam, Netherlands; open only to candidates based in the Netherlands with proficient Dutch

What you will do

• Complete a one-month AI and ML engineering foundation program led by hirify.global’s team.
• Start consulting for a client in the second month and work alongside an experienced consultant during the first year.
• Deploy ML models, build harnesses for AI agents, and work with platforms used by AI teams.
• Develop production-ready AI-driven applications spanning classic ML, GenAI, and agentic systems.
• Collaborate with hirify.global engineers, client engineers, data scientists, and business users while explaining technical design choices.
• Progress toward an AI Engineer or AI Platform Engineer profile across projects with different technologies and complexity.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher.
• Finishing or recently completing an AI internship, or approximately one year of professional experience in software engineering, DevOps, data science, or a related technical field.
• Interest in moving into AI and familiarity with modern technology stacks.
• Interest in the intersection of AI, software engineering, and data engineering.
• Excitement about CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, cloud platforms, and GenAI/LLM integration.
• Ability and willingness to code, script, and use templating, while taking ownership and sharing knowledge.
• Strong communication skills and interest in explaining technical decisions to clients.
• Proficient Dutch and residence in the Netherlands are required.
• Applicants with 3+ years of AI or ML engineering experience should consider the regular AI Engineer role instead.

Hiring process

• The cross-skilling program starts in February 2027.
• After the first month of training, the role moves into client consulting from the second month.
