Commercial Finance Analyst (Retail)

Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom; hybrid working with 2–3 days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Deliver trading and commercial reporting, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities across sales, margin, stock, and profitability.
• Partner with Retail, Marketing, Head Office, and senior stakeholders to provide financial insight and decision support.
• Support the Head of Retail with performance reporting, payroll analysis, and store profitability insights.
• Produce variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior year, translating complex data into recommendations.
• Evaluate new stores, marketing activity, and strategic initiatives, including investment returns and business cases.
• Develop financial models, dashboards, management information, and automated reporting for planning and commercial projects.

Requirements

• Experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, or a Finance Analyst position.
• Strong use of data and analysis to influence business decisions and commercial performance.
• High proficiency in Excel and confidence building financial models.
• Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and engagingly.
• Strong stakeholder-partnering and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive, curious approach with the confidence to challenge the status quo.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple projects and deadlines.
