Supply Chain Engineer - Supplier (9 Month Contract)

Location: Hybrid role based at the Porcari, Lucca site in Porcari, Tuscany, Italy

What you will do

• Manage upstream material and information flow from suppliers to point of use, with ownership of supplier on-time delivery and operational excellence.
• Parameterize raw material and purchased-part SKUs, maintain supplier master data in the ERP system, and manage supplier agreement changes.
• Use inventory tools to right-size raw material and purchased-goods inventory, including goods in transit.
• Measure and report supplier performance across on-time delivery, lead time, and order quantity while building collaborative supplier relationships.
• Act as the first escalation point for shortages and lead expediting, resolution, and recovery activities.
• Lead supplier improvement, product lifecycle, and NPI initiatives using root-cause countermeasures, action plans, ERP management, and Lean methodologies.

Requirements

• Degree-level education or appropriate workplace experience or qualification.
• 2–5 years of experience in Supply Chain Engineering, Supply Chain Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Proven understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes covering planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and inventory management.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI for data visualization, dashboard creation, and performance reporting.
• Experience in manufacturing supply chain environments, with solid knowledge of Lean methodologies and process optimization.
• Proactive mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
• Fluent or advanced Italian and professional English at C1 level.
• Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to think strategically, translate strategy into operational performance, lead change, and deliver results.

Nice to have

• APICs certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt training or an equivalent Lean qualification.
