Database Admin Senior (SQL Server)

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia; hybrid with three days in the office and two days working from home. Includes one weekend on-call shift per month.

Gross base salary starts at 32,000 EUR; the final offer depends on skills, experience, and other relevant considerations.

What you will do

• Install, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot relational database environments.
• Optimize performance through tuning, indexing, query optimization, and high-availability practices.
• Manage backup and recovery strategies and protect sensitive data through access management, encryption, auditing, and governance controls.
• Prioritize automated solutions and drive database administration automation with PowerShell, T-SQL, and other tools.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on scalable, high-performance database solutions.
• Support enterprise deployments, production incidents, root cause analysis, documentation, and audit readiness.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA and/or Developer in enterprise environments.
• Advanced T-SQL proficiency, including complex query development, performance tuning, and indexing strategies.
• Deep understanding of SQL Server architecture and internals.
• Experience with high-availability solutions such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups, clustering, and replication.
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation, monitoring, and administrative task optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Ability to adopt automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Python.
• Exposure to major cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, SolarWinds, or equivalent platforms.
