Mechanical Design Engineer (Production Machines)

Location: On-site in Lund, Sweden. The role may include travel to contract manufacturers worldwide for approximately 15 days per year.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and improve mechanical solutions for test and production systems using Creo 3D CAD and Windchill PDM.
• Develop robust, cost-efficient mechanical parts and production equipment from initial concept through testing and verification.
• Contribute to cross-functional development projects focused on simplicity, scalability, repeatability, and quality.
• Collaborate across technology areas and interfaces to create effective production setups for Axis products.
• Travel to contract manufacturers around the world for approximately 15 days per year when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering.
• At least 2 years of relevant product development experience.
• Experience with 3D CAD, ideally Creo, and experience with 3D printing, including designing parts specifically for 3D printing.
• Very good communication skills in English.
• Communication skills in Swedish.
• Structured, driven, curious, and innovative approach with commitment to completing deliverables.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, communicate effectively, and influence others in production engineering.

Nice to have

• Design experience in mechatronics and automation.
• Experience designing and producing moving mechanics and aluminum parts for CNC machining.
• International production experience or experience developing production equipment.
• Experience with optics or metrology.
