Delivery Project Lead, Manager (Insurance)

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end delivery and account objectives for application outsourcing and managed services engagements.
• Deliver large-scale software development projects with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, profitability, resource planning, timelines, risks, and delivery commitments.
• Act as the primary client contact, resolve queries, and maintain customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work with architects and senior engineers on code quality, design, technical excellence, query resolution, and defect analysis.
• Mentor team members through one-on-ones, performance assessments, career planning, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 15–18+ years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years in managerial roles overseeing teams and projects.
• Experience leading end-to-end delivery and managing application outsourcing or managed services for large Life & Annuity insurance clients.
• Successful delivery of large-scale software projects with cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of the Japanese insurance market, particularly annuity products.
• Fluency in both Japanese and English, verbally and in writing; Japanese N1 level is required.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and team leadership skills, including experience managing diverse engineering teams.
• Project management expertise covering resource planning, schedule tracking, and risk mitigation.
• Hands-on experience with Micro Focus tools, COBOL, JCL, and DB2 for UDB.
• Strong programming, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Vantage and wmA products.
• LOMA, PMP, Scrum Master, or relevant technical certifications.
