Technical Project Manager / Engineering Lead (AI/ML Infrastructure)

Salary: ¥15,000,000–¥20,000,000 JPY base salary per year

What you will do

• Own end-to-end planning and execution of complex technical evaluation projects, including timelines, milestones, risks, benchmarks, reports, and software artifacts.
• Lead daily engineering standups, remove blockers, assign action items, and coordinate a large distributed team across compilers, performance SDKs, model bring-up, systems, and packaging.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for strategic customer engineering teams, managing expectations and communicating project status, capabilities, limitations, and outcomes.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering tasks and deliver technical briefings and reports to engineering and executive stakeholders.
• Guide technical scope decisions involving models such as Llama 70B/405B, Qwen, and GLM, and analyze results to inform the product roadmap and future sales strategies.

Requirements

• Fluency in Japanese and English.
• 10+ years of experience in technical project management, engineering leadership, or customer-facing architecture within AI/ML, HPC, or systems infrastructure.
• Experience supporting strategic Japanese and US high-technology companies, including management of cultural and time-zone differences.
• Proven experience managing complex software/hardware integration or evaluation projects under tight deadlines.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML workloads, including model training, inference, and associated software such as PyTorch and vLLM.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining highly technical concepts to engineers and executive stakeholders.
• Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with large language models and mixture-of-experts models.
• Background in AI-system performance analysis and benchmarking.
• Familiarity with compiler technology, parallel programming, or high-speed networking.
