Group Category Manager (Enterprise Software & IT Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Develop and deliver the enterprise software and IT infrastructure category strategy, including sourcing, savings, and value creation.
• Lead commercial management of the Group ERP estate, software licensing, implementation partners, and IT infrastructure lifecycle.
• Optimise licensing, reduce audit risk, eliminate unnecessary spend, and manage renewals and contract expiries.
• Negotiate technology contracts and establish favourable commercial, service, risk, governance, and compliance terms.
• Lead supplier consolidation, performance management, strategic vendor partnerships, and measurable cost improvements.
• Partner with IT, Finance, Legal, and operational stakeholders on sourcing and investment decisions.

Requirements

• Proven experience in IT procurement and commercial contract negotiation, particularly across software, SaaS, and IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of software licensing, vendor management, and licence compliance.
• Experience with ERP programmes, systems integration contracts, and commercial governance.
• Expertise in sourcing IT hardware, infrastructure, and support services.
• Track record of delivering category strategies, supplier rationalisation, and cost savings.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence IT, Finance, Legal, and operational teams.
• Knowledge of contract controls, audit requirements, and procurement best practice.
• Degree educated.

Nice to have

• CIPS and/or World Commerce & Contracting (IACCM) membership.
• Experience in regulated or defence-related environments.
