Senior Electrical Project Engineer (Subsea Defence)

Location: Inchinnan, Glasgow, United Kingdom. Permanent, full-time role. Applicants must be able to pass security clearance and have the right to work and reside in the UK.

What you will do

• Design new products and provide through-life engineering support for existing equipment, including upgrades, modifications, technical queries, and product improvements.
• Develop solutions for complex electro-mechanical and mission-critical subsea systems.
• Collaborate with sales, supply chain, production, software, controls, electronics, and mechanical engineering teams.
• Represent JFD in customer design reviews, technical discussions, audits, commissioning, trials, and acceptance testing.
• Prepare and review specifications, proposals, test procedures, reports, manufacturing drawings, and other engineering documentation.
• Deliver engineering activities on time, within budget, and in compliance with standards, regulations, and company procedures; approve drawings and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proven experience designing and manufacturing power, control, and instrumentation systems, particularly DC systems.
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks Electrical and AutoCAD LT.
• Experience producing and maintaining engineering documentation, specifications, drawings, and technical reports.
• Experience performing and reviewing engineering calculations.
• Experience in an Electrical Project Engineer or similar role.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and understanding of relevant engineering standards, regulations, and design compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management systems for creating and managing engineering documentation.
• Experience designing products to meet CE compliance requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex electro-mechanical systems, strong fault-finding capabilities, and a background in subsea or naval defence projects.
