Senior Electronics Design Engineer (Marine Electronics)

Location: UK - Fareham; onsite role. The position requires eligibility to apply for and obtain an export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce for access to export-controlled information or items.

What you will do

• Design and verify electronic circuits for the latest Raymarine products as part of cross-functional hardware, mechanical, PCB, and software teams.
• Test and debug PCBs and create schematics with controlled documentation.
• Prepare and participate in developing hardware technical specifications.
• Guide and assist junior engineers in a senior technical role.
• Monitor new tools and technologies, recommending them where appropriate.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and liaise with production to transition designs into volume manufacturing.

Requirements

• Degree-level education with a BSc in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent, plus extensive experience in an electronics design role.
• Practical knowledge of analogue electronics, including bipolar transistor and FET design, operational amplifiers, analogue-to-digital conversion, and digital-to-analogue conversion.
• Knowledge of power supply topology and design.
• Practical knowledge of digital electronics, including microprocessor design, CMOS logic design, PAL/EPLD design, DRAM, FLASH, EEPROM, and PROM.
• Experience using schematic capture and circuit simulation tools.
• Background in consumer electronics and high-volume manufacturing.
• Ability to work on multiple designs in a dynamic, fast-moving environment with strong attention to detail.
