Manufacturing Intern (Automotive)

Location: Plymouth, Michigan, United States; onsite manufacturing role with travel within and outside Michigan, including up to 25% travel to hirify.global facilities and equipment suppliers.

What you will do

• Support process and equipment analysis within Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
• Develop equipment layouts using AutoCAD and support processing activities with Modapts.
• Perform PFMEA risk analysis and manufacturing feasibility assessments using DFAM.
• Monitor current processes and cycle times and review current and future equipment requirements.
• Support product-build site visits, supplier runoff and testing, material-flow planning, model-year layout changes, and direct-labor continuous-improvement activities.
• Balance requirements across internal functional groups, develop macros for standard document creation, and apply core standards to OEM products and plant constraints.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university and pursuing a four-year B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• Available to work up to 40 hours per week during the program, from May 3, 2027 through August 12, 2027.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
• Solid analytical skills and the ability to work effectively with plant and corporate teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Travel of up to 25% to other hirify.global facilities is required.

Nice to have

• Previous internship or co-op experience in an automotive-related position.
• AutoCAD experience.
• Experience developing macros.
