Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work model.

Base compensation: CAD 82,100–132,100 annually in Ontario, plus possible annual bonus.

What you will do

• Design and deploy AI-first software applications and translate business requirements into technical designs and specifications.
• Research technologies that improve application performance and development efficiency while maintaining quality.
• Develop, document, release, and support performant, resilient, and high-availability features.
• Collaborate with product, business, development, QA, and systems operations teams on planning, estimates, testing, defect resolution, and system stability.
• Prepare test plans and cases, define test execution methods, participate in releases, and provide production support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4 years of professional software development experience.
• Hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core, NodeJS, Python, and cloud-based development, preferably AWS.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with CI/CD, Git, code reviews, debugging, logging, and production support.
• Strong interest in AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar for coding, testing, refactoring, debugging, and documentation.
• Ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, maintainability, security, and performance.
• Some design skills, including knowledge of common design patterns.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and prioritization skills, a customer-first approach, and excellent written and verbal communication.
