Data Scientist Apprenticeship - Level 6 - Media Tech (AI)

Location: Salford - Dock House or London - London Broadcasting House; applicants must live within a commutable distance.

Salary: £24,650 per year, plus £5,441 London Weighting.

What you will do

• Learn how data supports audience understanding, products, internal tooling, and operational workflows.
• Use AI and machine learning approaches to contribute to audience insights and products.
• Contribute to the data science lifecycle from inception through production deployment and beyond.
• Cleanse and validate data and build and evaluate predictive models.
• Study remotely for a BSc (Hons) in Data Science, including artificial intelligence, deep learning, machine learning, data infrastructure, and data visualisation.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 by the apprenticeship start in September 2027.
• Must have lived continuously in the UK for the three years before the apprenticeship starts and be legally eligible to work full-time in the UK for the full duration.
• Must not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship or already hold a qualification in the same subject at the same or a higher level.
• Must be a non-graduate and have maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above, National 5 at C, or an equivalent qualification.
• Must have achieved or expect to achieve at least 104 UCAS points, including A Level/Higher Maths, an extended BTEC in Engineering with Engineering Maths, or an equivalent qualification.
• Interest in maths, data, machine learning, and AI, with enthusiasm for using emerging AI and machine learning technologies responsibly.
• Problem-solving, organisation, negotiation, flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Fresh ideas and an interest in the hirify.global, its public service mission, and values.
