Manager, Software Engineering (Fintech)

Location: Mountain View, US; hybrid with 2 days of in-office work per week

Base salary: $266,793–$326,081 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, hire, and develop backend and mobile engineers, including staff-level technical leads.
• Own performance management, role definition, interview loops, leveling, calibration, and development plans.
• Drive planning, sprint delivery, partner launches, platform work, and reporting of risks and dependencies.
• Shape the quarterly roadmap with the GM using member and partner data, ROI analysis, experiments, and business metrics.
• Guide technical direction across partner integrations, rewards, and ranking, including design reviews, technical-debt prioritization, and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Own operational health for high-traffic services and coordinate launches with Legal, Compliance, Finance, CX, and external partners while championing AI-native engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years directly managing a team of 5+ engineers and experience hiring and developing them.
• Significant backend services and distributed-systems experience, including operating high-volume customer-facing services, plus working knowledge of iOS or Android development.
• Experience delivering integrations with external partners, third-party APIs, or SDKs.
• Experience shipping products in a regulated environment with Legal, Compliance, or bank partners.
• Hands-on fluency with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Cursor and Claude Code, applying them to planning, coding, triage, and technical decisions.
• Experience shaping product priorities through customer insight, experiments, business metrics, and lean MVP scoping.

• Experience with marketplaces, rewards or loyalty, ad-tech, payments, experimentation, personalization, or ranking systems.
