Graduate Academic Advisor II

Salary: $3,750.00 monthly minimum; final salary is commensurate with education and experience.

What you will do

• Advise graduate students on program requirements, academic processes, goals, deadlines, and available resources.
• Maintain accurate student records, academic progress documentation, advising materials, and resources.
• Support advising events, programs, admissions, orientation, student organizations, and program coordination.
• Guide faculty on university processes and policies for graduate programs.
• Serve as the Campus Programs for Minors Liaison, ensuring required program documentation is complete and retained according to university rules.
• Use ARGOS, Banner, or Compass Reports to retrieve, analyze, and interpret student data for policy implementation and data-driven advising.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in higher education or related fields.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work cooperatively and multitask.
• Familiarity with event planning and coordination, graduate admissions, program operations, academic advising principles, and student support.
• Proficiency with standard office software and technology.
• Ability to work with confidential information.
• This is an essential position during university-declared emergencies, campus closures, or class cancellations; the employee must report to work and remain on duty until relieved by the supervisor.
