Senior Software Engineer (Java, DevTest / QA Automation)

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and support Java backend services, REST APIs, microservices, integrations, and event-driven applications.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, technical designs, modernization, refactoring, performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability improvements.
• Design automated testing solutions and reusable frameworks for backend services, APIs, integrations, and distributed systems, including unit, integration, regression, API, contract, and system-level tests.
• Validate asynchronous processing, event-driven workflows, failure recovery, and distributed-system behavior; investigate failures and improve test coverage and release confidence.
• Build CI/CD pipelines, troubleshoot production issues using logs, metrics, tracing, and diagnostics, and support cloud-native services across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Platform, Product, Security, and engineering teams; review code, mentor engineers, and own solutions through production support.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience developing backend applications, SaaS platforms, or distributed systems, including 4+ years of hands-on Java backend development.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, backend service development, and production software design, implementation, debugging, and support.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, or event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, concurrency, asynchronous processing, and system design.
• Hands-on experience developing automated tests for backend services, APIs, or distributed applications and building or extending reusable test frameworks, libraries, or utilities.
• Strong understanding of unit, integration, regression, API, and system-level testing.
• Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with automated test execution.
• Experience building and operating production applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience troubleshooting application failures, debugging code, investigating production issues, using AI-assisted development tools, and independently owning technical deliverables from design through production support.

Nice to have

• Deep experience with Spring Cloud, Hibernate, or similar backend frameworks; Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other distributed messaging technologies.
• Experience testing asynchronous systems, event-driven architectures, and distributed workflows.
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, REST Assured, WireMock, or equivalent testing technologies.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, relational databases, and CI/CD technologies such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Experience implementing quality gates, test reporting, deployment validation, performance, load, resilience, reliability, observability, monitoring, or production diagnostics.
• Experience using Claude Code or other AI coding agents, mentoring engineers, or contributing to technical standards.
