Resident Engineer (Highway), ANS

Location: San Francisco, California, or Sacramento, California; hybrid work combining remote work, client sites, and Accenture offices with required in-person time

Salary: USD 250,000–300,000 per year

What you will do

• Inspect highway and roadway construction and provide quality assurance against plans and specifications.
• Coordinate with contractors, public utility agencies, project teams, construction staking CMCs, and material testing CMCs.
• Coordinate with the general contractor and negotiate change orders.
• Inspect bridges, foundations, walls, falsework, shoring, and drainage structures for compliance with contract requirements.
• Perform or support grade, alignment, quantity, falsework, and shoring calculations; prepare change orders, estimates, pay estimates, reports, and project documentation.
• Coordinate material sampling and testing, monitor contractor progress, maintain project records, and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

Requirements

• Licensed Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California.
• Experience on at least one highway construction project for or on Caltrans.
• At least 8 years of roadway and highway construction inspection experience on major public works projects.
• At least 3 years of experience with stress analysis, structural mechanics, and strength of materials.
• At least 3 years of experience with the physical characteristics and properties of roadway and bridge construction materials, including concrete and steel.

Nice to have

• Ability to work in a construction field office, make decisions about work in progress, and solve field problems.
• Ability to direct subordinate inspectors.
• Expertise in toll road projects and tolling systems, including overhead gantries, cameras, and in-pavement vehicle detection loops.
• Experience with Caltrans District 4 Highway.
