Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)

Location: Washington, DC; onsite for 5 days per week initially, transitioning to 3 onsite days

Salary: $110,000–$180,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage and operate an information systems security program for a U.S. government customer.
• Support vulnerability, risk, network security, product, implementation, remediation, and security posture assessments.
• Design and implement solutions that protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.
• Identify, evaluate, investigate, and remediate cyber and insider threats.
• Evaluate Civil Division systems, conduct security testing and audit log reviews, and recommend improvements.
• Support contingency planning, personnel security training, and system accreditation under FISMA, NIST, and Department policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a closely related field.
• 7+ years of progressive, hands-on technical experience in Information Assurance C&A.
• Experience working as an ISSO supporting federal government information systems.
• Experience with ISO, NIST, and U.S. Government standards and cybersecurity frameworks, including FISMA, FIPS, and HSPD, as well as system administration.
• Experience with ITS Publication 1075 for safeguarding Federal Tax Information.
• Experience in IT security management, engineering, and analysis.
• Active CISSP, CEH, or CISM certification.
• Active Top Secret clearance required.
