Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: New York, NY; Washington, D.C.; Austin, TX. The role follows a hybrid schedule with a regular in-person presence at a Method hub in NYC, Austin, San Francisco, or Washington, D.C.; full-time remote work is not supported and employees are generally expected in the office 2–3 days per week.

Annual US base salary: $175,000–$215,000.

hirify.global builds API-based consumer financial account connectivity and payment execution products used by financial institutions and consumer applications.

What you will do

• Own engineering projects end to end and make technical and business decisions with team support.
• Build platform experiences with JavaScript, React, Node, and reliable backend services.
• Investigate and debug production issues using monitoring and logging tools, then define remediation actions.
• Participate in code reviews and interview prospective team members.
• Collaborate with the team to define the product roadmap based on customer needs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of full-time software engineering experience, ideally in full-stack development.
• Experience building scalable, production-level applications; a history of excellent projects is required.
• Experience with some combination of Node or JavaScript, React or a similar framework, and MongoDB or NoSQL.
• Ability to communicate solution concepts clearly and break large solutions into smaller tasks.
• Ability to balance rapid delivery with careful engineering and manage technical debt.
• Curiosity and willingness to stay current with emerging technologies and fintech trends.

Nice to have

• Finance or fintech experience.
• Experience building data pipelines.
• Knowledge of payment rails such as ACH and RTP.
• DevOps experience with AWS, Cloudflare, and CI/CD tools.
