Principal Growth Engineer

Location: On-site in Bellevue, United States

Base salary: $218,000–$275,000 per year

What you will do

• Define and own growth metrics from sign-up and trial activation through upgrade.
• Analyze product telemetry and public user signals to identify adoption friction.
• Turn findings into hypotheses, then build, ship, and A/B test product changes.
• Write production code across the platform and work in any part of the codebase required for a fix.
• Use AI coding agents to move ideas from concept to production.
• Explain experiments, success criteria, and learnings to engineering, product, design, and leadership.

Requirements

• Principal-level engineering experience with recent hands-on experience shipping full-stack production code using TypeScript, React, and backend services or similar technologies.
• Daily use of coding agents with the ability to describe an AI-native development workflow in detail.
• Track record in growth, activation, or funnel work at a product-led company, with personally attributable metric improvements.
• Strong product sense, including independently identifying problems, proposing solutions, and defining measurement.
• Ability to deliver results quickly with a small team or individual ownership.
• Clear written and spoken communication, including presenting cases to senior leaders.

Nice to have

• Growth experience at an enterprise product-led company where self-serve users become business customers.
• Experience optimizing products for AI agents as users, including agent-friendly documentation, APIs, and discovery.
• Public presence through talks, posts, open source, or content read by developers.
• Familiarity with automation, workflow, or developer-platform products.
