Manager Technology (Fintech)

Location: Remote in WA, TX, ID, SC, OR, VA, NC, GA, AZ, or CA. Candidates residing in Washington within reasonable driving distance of Tukwila must work from headquarters on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; candidates outside the commute distance in approved locations work remotely.

Target pay range: $150,800–$184,200 annually. Full pay range: $117,300–$217,800 annually. Performance-based compensation incentives are also available.

What you will do

• Lead software developers, contractors, and technology partners delivering member-facing applications for digital origination, credit, deposits, and business banking.
• Drive high-impact initiatives including Credit Line Increase, Retail MAX, and consumer and small and medium business origination.
• Coach, mentor, and develop engineering talent while setting expectations and supporting performance.
• Engage with architecture, APIs, integrations, application design, and code-level issues to troubleshoot complex problems and guide solutions.
• Improve software delivery practices, including quality, automation, CI/CD, controls, incident management, and continuous delivery.
• Shape technology roadmaps and partner with Product, business, data, API, architecture, performance engineering, vendor, and other technology stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of experience leading technology teams.
• At least 4 years of IT experience with demonstrated expertise in full-stack application design and development.
• Hands-on experience with Angular, React, Java Spring Boot, Node.js, or similar technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP, infrastructure and operations, or financial products such as credit cards, mortgages, auto loans, or deposits.
• Experience building technology platforms and teams.
• Strong technology fundamentals, design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis skills.
• Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and product management about requirements, product features, and technical designs.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
• Experience with software engineering best practices including coding standards, change management, incident management, CI/CD, build processes, testing, and operations.
