Power BI Developer

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom; Leeds is the place of work, with travel to other offices and locations as required.

Salary: £50,000–£59,000 per annum plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Design accessible Power BI reports, dashboards, and analytical applications that turn complex data into actionable insight.
• Build and optimise semantic models using dimensional modelling, Power Query, DAX, relationships, and security controls.
• Gather stakeholder requirements, define KPIs, and translate business questions into effective visualisations and analytical experiences.
• Use Microsoft Fabric capabilities, governed data sources, and reusable datasets to deliver end-to-end analytics solutions with Data Engineering and other technology teams.
• Apply testing, source control, deployment pipelines, and development lifecycle practices.
• Monitor and troubleshoot reports, refreshes, semantic models, and Fabric workloads through resolution.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience developing production Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.
• Advanced Power Query, DAX, data modelling, and performance optimisation skills.
• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and its integration with Power BI, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, and Dataflows Gen2.
• Strong SQL skills and experience connecting to cloud and on-premises data sources.
• Experience gathering stakeholder requirements, defining KPIs, and delivering useful analytical products.
• Understanding of Power BI security, governance, workspaces, permissions, row-level security, and controlled sharing.
• Clear technical communication, ownership, and effective collaboration with technical and business colleagues.
