TL;DR
Senior AI Architect (Application Security) (AI/LLM and cybersecurity): Architecting, building, and securing agentic workflows and AI platforms that support application security consulting, with an accent on agent orchestration, secure AI architecture, and client advisory. Focus on designing evaluation harnesses, threat modeling AI systems, governing tool autonomy, and leading secure AI adoption from experimentation to production.

Location: Remote; anywhere in the U.S. only. Up to 20% travel may be required.

Company

hirify.global is a privately held cybersecurity services and solutions provider serving Fortune 500 companies, U.S. government agencies, and other organizations.

What you will do

  • Define the architecture, technical roadmap, and secure design of the Application Security Practice’s agentic delivery platform, including agents, prompts, skills, MCP servers, tool integrations, and orchestration workflows.
  • Build agentic capabilities using retrieval and context strategies, data-source integrations, tool and function calling, and evaluation harnesses for output quality, coverage, and consistency.
  • Apply secure-by-design controls to AI systems, including threat modeling, least-privilege tool scopes, autonomy boundaries, client-data protection, human review gates, output validation, version control, telemetry, and evidence of data handling.
  • Act as a forward-deployed security architect and AI strategy lead for client engagements involving application and AI architecture reviews, threat modeling, governance assessments, and secure AI adoption.
  • Develop and deliver AI security training for clients and consultants, and serve as the technical liaison with AI labs and model providers.
  • Set technical direction for AI architecture, mentor consultants, shape service offerings, support client pursuits, and contribute to research, conference speaking, publications, webinars, and open-source security tooling.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with 7 years of experience, Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of experience, or a Master’s Degree.
  • At least 3 years in security architecture, application security, software engineering, or platform engineering with ownership of system-level design decisions.
  • At least 1 year in enterprise consulting or a client-facing technical advisory role.
  • Hands-on experience designing and building shipped AI agents and agentic systems, including orchestration frameworks, agent skills, prompt engineering, tool and function calling, MCP servers, retrieval-augmented generation, context management, and evaluation harnesses.
  • Ability to explain personally designed and built agentic systems, architecture and security tradeoffs, output-quality evaluation, and failures during a technical interview.
  • Experience building with LLM APIs and SDKs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon Bedrock, or Azure OpenAI, with strong skills in Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or a comparable language.
  • Ability to threat model and securely architect AI-native and agentic systems, including practical knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications and OWASP Top 10 for Agentic Applications.
  • Working knowledge of application security assessment, threat modeling, secure code review, application architecture review, and Secure SDLC practices.
  • Ability to communicate architecture and AI strategy to engineering and executive audiences, represent the organization with external technology partners, and lead by influence.
  • Willingness to adopt emerging AI technologies to solve problems and improve business outcomes.

Nice to have

  • More than 7 combined years of IT and information security experience, including application security or software architecture responsibility.
  • Enterprise AI strategy, AI governance, or responsible-AI advisory experience aligned with NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, or the EU AI Act.
  • Forward-deployed, embedded, or resident architect experience with client engineering teams.
  • Experience delivering technical training, workshops, or enablement programs, or participating in vendor technical partner and SME programs.
  • DevSecOps, platform engineering, or MLOps/LLMOps experience outside consulting.
  • Information security community involvement through conferences, publications, open source, or podcasts.
  • Relevant AI, application security, or architecture certifications; certifications are a plus, not a prerequisite.

Culture & Benefits

  • Remote workforce is primarily U.S.-based only; some positions may require onsite work, and travel may be required.
  • Collaborative workplace with mentorship, knowledgeable colleagues, and opportunities to work with leading security vendors and AI labs.
  • Medical, dental, and HSA insurance options with substantial employer contributions.
  • 12 corporate holidays, flexible time off, mobile phone and home internet allowance, pet benefits, and retirement-plan eligibility after two months at open enrollment.
  • Sedentary work with extensive computer use and close visual acuity required for at least 8 hours per day.

Hiring process

  • Be prepared to substantiate AI experience in a technical interview by explaining personally built agentic systems, design tradeoffs, evaluation methods, and failures.
  • Application communication may come through Greenhouse Software and Zoom Scheduler; check the spam folder for updates.
