SmartPlant 3D/SRD Administrator

Location: The Woodlands, Texas, or Plainfield, Illinois, United States; onsite at either office location

Salary: $102,000–$128,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Set up, configure, administer, and maintain Smart 3D/SRD projects in line with client, project, and corporate standards.
• Configure piping specifications, catalogs, symbols, supports, deliverable templates, isometrics, drawings, reports, MTO, weight, and center-of-gravity outputs.
• Set up interference detection, clash-cleanup rules, model reviews, reference-model conversions, publishing workflows, and project reporting.
• Configure Global Workshare environments, database replication, hierarchy, locations, permissions, and multidisciplinary scope splits.
• Maintain Smart 3D databases, backups, integrity checks, and project cleanup; participate in custom applications that automate Smart 3D tasks.
• Support and train design teams, coordinate with engineering disciplines, provide documentation, and resolve project issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of engineering design experience, including at least 5 years in Smart 3D/SRD administration.
• Hands-on experience with engineering 3D modeling technologies in petrochemical, oil and gas, or engineering and construction environments.
• Completed Hexagon Smart 3D/SRD Administrator training or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Experience administering large Smart 3D projects with 20+ users and executing projects in Global Workshare Configuration environments.
• Experience integrating Smart 3D with SmartPlant Foundation and SmartPlant Enterprise authoring tools including SPPID, SPEL, and SPI.
• Experience configuring Smart 3D deliverables, piping supports, vendor data through SPIOP, laser-scan point clouds, STEP files, and Navisworks outputs.
• Knowledge of Spoolgen and TEKLA; exposure to Oracle and MSSQL Server databases.
• Proficiency in VB.Net, C#, VBA, and XML; ability to work with SAT, DGN, DWG, and STEP CAD formats.
• Engineering discipline experience in piping, structural, or E&I; strong analytical, organizational, project-management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to support multiple projects under tight deadlines, collaborate across global functions, and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills are required.
