TL;DR
Electrical Engineering Internship (Electronics Engineering): Designing, prototyping, debugging, and testing electronic systems and playable technical prototypes with an accent on printed circuit boards, sensors, lab equipment, and cross-functional integration. Focus on root-cause analysis, bench testing, system-integration protocols, and turning classroom theory into consumer product prototypes.

Location: On site in Billund, Denmark for the full internship period.

Company

Creative Play Lab is an innovation hub within the hirify.global Group developing new play opportunities and next-generation experiences through experimentation, technology, research, and engineering.

What you will do

  • Support senior engineers in designing and testing printed circuit boards, debugging circuits, and measuring electronic subsystem performance.
  • Assist with root-cause investigations using sensor data, circuit debugging, and bench tests of play-critical features.
  • Collaborate with Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, and Firmware teams on system-integration testing protocols.
  • Identify tasks proactively in line with project goals and communicate technical findings, test procedures, and milestones.

Requirements

  • Must be over 18, remain enrolled as a student in higher education for the full internship, and be due to graduate after the internship period.
  • The internship must be a compulsory part of the education and contribute quantitatively toward course credit.
  • Must be available full time from February 2027 through the end of June 2027 and work on site in Billund, Denmark.
  • Must not request a delayed graduation date solely to qualify for the internship.
  • Curiosity, bravery, focus, and collaborative teamwork, including comfort with ambiguity, changing priorities, feedback, and cross-functional communication.

Nice to have

  • Experience with soldering and hands-on electronics assembly.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, function generators, or similar lab equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics, printed circuit board layouts, and electrical design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or KiCad.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital building blocks, including passive components, transistors, op amps, logic gates, and clocks.
  • Experience with I2C, SPI, or UART communication protocols.
  • Ability to break technical challenges into electrical building blocks for root-cause analysis.

Culture & Benefits

  • Paid five-month internship with possible extension through summer 2027.
  • Direct support from senior electrical engineers and learning within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Collaboration with engineering and technology colleagues across Denmark, London, and Singapore.
  • Family care leave, life and disability insurance, wellbeing resources, colleague discount, and an eligible bonus scheme.
  • The general hybrid model may allow working from home up to two days per week, subject to role and team applicability; this internship explicitly requires on-site work in Billund.

Hiring process

  • Submit the application in English by Friday 9 October 2026; late applications will not be considered.
  • Attach three separate PDF documents: a current CV, a bespoke cover letter of no more than 200 words, and either an A4 landscape poster designed to show suitability or a portfolio demonstrating relevant interests, projects, hobbies, and work.
  • Apply only to internships aligned with your strengths; applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis and roles may be amended or withdrawn early.
