Senior Security Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: Remote, with occasional travel to Garner's New York City headquarters.

Salary: $209,000–$243,000 per year, plus equity incentive eligibility and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead technical security design and review processes for security-critical systems and new features.
• Apply expertise in one or more security domains, including cloud security, application security, or data security.
• Identify inefficient or insufficient technical approaches and redirect work toward higher-risk-reduction impact.
• Build advanced tools and automation for security monitoring and incident response.
• Translate broad security objectives into defined deliverables and architectural requirements.
• Provide high-level feedback in code and design reviews, mentor engineers, and promote security-first development.

Requirements

• Proven ability to make high-stakes technical decisions that produce positive long-term security outcomes.
• Strong strategic problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and prioritization of security initiatives by risk reduction.
• Ability to build relationships across the organization and communicate complex security risks clearly to technical and non-technical partners.
• Ability to develop creative solutions that reduce technical debt and improve security infrastructure efficiency.
• Ability to handle complex escalations and security incidents with disciplined analysis and comprehensive resolution.
• Experience with relevant technical security domains and technologies such as Python, Kubernetes, Snowflake, AWS, Terraform, Wiz, and Cyberhaven.
