Portfolio Operations Manager (Biotech)

Location: Remote within the United States or based in South San Francisco, California. Relocation benefits are not available. Travel is required as needed for internal and external business meetings.

Salary: $142,200–$264,200 USD annually, with a discretionary annual bonus potentially available.

What you will do

• Maintain the integrated enterprise portfolio across initiatives, launches, RBO work, and field-partner commitments.
• Translate strategy and leadership priorities into a prioritized roadmap with sequencing, dependencies, milestones, and tradeoffs.
• Own intake, evaluation, prioritization, governance cadence, decision materials, decision logs, and escalation paths.
• Maintain visibility into capacity, demand, resource constraints, risks, dependencies, and RBO commitments.
• Lead, coach, and develop Enterprise Operations Leads while establishing portfolio management standards, tools, and ways of working.
• Provide executive dashboards, outcome reviews, synthesis, and recommendations for competing priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 8–10 years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, consulting, commercial, portfolio, strategy, program management, and/or operations experience, including leading, coaching, or mentoring others strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with portfolio management, prioritization, governance, or resource planning.
• Experience facilitating senior leadership decisions involving competing priorities and tradeoffs.
• Strong analytical, synthesis, project/program management, communication, and executive presentation skills.
• Ability to influence across a complex matrixed organization and facilitate senior-level prioritization and decision discussions.
• Ability and willingness to travel as required for internal and external business meetings.

Nice to have

• Graduate-level degree, such as an MBA or advanced life sciences degree.
• Prior commercial operations, portfolio management, strategy, or transformation experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale field organizations, RBO, or enterprise planning processes.
