Senior FP&A Controller (m/f/d)

Location: On-site in Gilching, Bavaria, Germany or Berlin, Germany. Mobile work is available for one flexible day per week.

What you will do

• Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, mid-term financial plans, and long-range planning.
• Develop and run scenario analyses, sensitivities, and what-if analyses for business decisions.
• Establish operational reporting cadences, monitor financial and operational KPIs, and perform variance and trend analyses.
• Translate operational performance data into actionable insights, management updates, and financial narratives.
• Partner with departments on planning and performance tracking, challenge assumptions, and provide financial guidance.
• Build financial models and business cases while improving planning tools, data consistency, automation, and FP&A processes.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in FP&A or Controlling with a strong operational focus.
• Hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
• Confidence working with modern planning tools; Anaplan is a strong plus.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a business mindset.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
• Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Fluent English required; German is a plus.

Nice to have

• Initial leadership or mentoring experience, or strong motivation to take on leadership responsibility.
• Experience in a scaling or transformation environment.
• Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Basic knowledge of data analysis tools such as SQL or Python.
• Professional qualification such as CIMA or ACCA.
