Senior Russian Legal Linguist (Legaltech)

What you will do

• Perform copy-editing and on-demand translation for assigned projects and accounts.
• Act as lead linguist and take ownership of deliveries translated internally or by external partners into Russian.
• Prepare and maintain glossaries, style guides, work instructions, and other language resources.
• Manage project queries, terminology questions, linguistic quality issues, and error arbitration.
• Coordinate freelancers, agencies, internal linguists, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Test and qualify vendors, train linguists, support process improvements, and meet productivity, delivery, and quality targets.

Requirements

• University degree in Translation, Applied Languages, Linguistics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Native-level Russian proficiency and fluent written and spoken English.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in translation, localization, editing, or content writing, including 5+ years in linguistic review and copy-editing.
• Thorough understanding of localization processes and legal terminology covering intellectual property, patents, agreements, trademarks, copyright, and IP litigation.
• Experience serving as a subject-matter expert for assigned content specialties, service lines, and processes.
• Excellent user experience with CAT tools such as XTM and SDL Trados Studio, issue-tracking and query-management tools such as JIRA, Windows, and Office applications.
• Ability to learn localization tools quickly, provide clear and constructive feedback, coordinate translators, train others, and work effectively in a virtual team.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, problem-solving, and practical judgment skills, including communication with customers, managers, and linguists.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines.
