Software Developer, AI Platforms

Location: Remote within the US; US citizenship required. Monday–Friday full-time schedule.

Salary: $150,000–$175,000 per year, depending on experience, education, and clearance level.

What you will do

• Own production web applications from repository to runtime, including features, bug fixes, releases, and on-call support.
• Build and extend React and TypeScript front ends and Python services backed by PostgreSQL.
• Replace prototype data with live integrations to third-party and government APIs.
• Develop AI features using large language model APIs, including retrieval, structured output, evaluation, and agentic workflows.
• Implement automated tests, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, backups, and documented runbooks.
• Work with application users, document technical decisions clearly, prototype quickly, measure results, and discontinue ineffective approaches.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3–6 years of professional software development experience, including at least 2 years supporting production applications used by real users.
• Strong TypeScript and React skills; working proficiency in Python; solid SQL and PostgreSQL schema design.
• Experience deploying and operating applications on at least two major cloud platforms among Azure, AWS, and GCP, including serverless or containerized services.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure identity, including Entra ID, conditional access, and role-based access control, or the ability to learn these quickly.
• Hands-on experience with large language model APIs, including prompt design, retrieval, structured output, and evaluation.
• Git-based workflows, code review, and automated testing.
• Clear written communication and the ability to explain design decisions to non-technical colleagues.
• US citizenship, curiosity, and ownership.
