Assistant Technology Cost and Commercial Manager

Location: Bristol, UK; hybrid, with at least two days per week or 40% of working time at the Bristol office

Salary: £44,901–£49,890 per year

What you will do

• Support month-end activities and ensure technology costs are recorded accurately.
• Build forecasts and cost models to identify changes, risks, and opportunities.
• Manage supplier financial activity, including purchase orders, goods receipts, invoices, and payments.
• Review contracts and pricing and translate technology demand and sourcing plans into financial forecasts.
• Provide financial insight for business cases, contract reviews, renewals, and investment decisions.
• Collaborate with Technology, Finance, Sourcing, Commercial, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Experience building effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders across business areas, and suppliers.
• Experience identifying financial or commercial risks and opportunities, investigating issues, and supporting appropriate actions.
• Practical experience managing costs or financial information, including budgeting, forecasting, analysing spend, and explaining variances.
• Experience using financial data and Excel to produce accurate analysis and turn information into useful insight for decision-making.
• Experience using financial or commercial information to understand business impacts and inform decisions involving costs, contracts, or supplier activity.

Nice to have

• Interest in or experience with technology platforms, infrastructure services, or cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of accounting concepts or financial processes, including accruals, prepayments, capital and operating expenditure, lease accounting, or financial journals.
• Experience supporting business cases, forecasts, financial analysis, or investment decisions through financial planning and analysis.
