Networks Cyber Security Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Hemel Hempstead, England, United Kingdom; 1–2 days per week must be worked from an NEC office. Occasional travel and out-of-hours work may be required.

What you will do

• Safeguard networks through security and vulnerability patch management.
• Investigate alerts, respond to incidents, and provide security recommendations.
• Perform proactive scanning, deliver ITHC remediation, and participate in threat hunting.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams and automate remediation activities.
• Analyse Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls and support security across different locations.
• Participate in business activities and provide flexible out-of-hours coverage when required.

Requirements

• Relevant experience working in large network environments.
• Proficiency with Cisco ASA/Firepower and Palo Alto/Panorama technologies.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, collaborative, and client-facing skills.
• Adaptability and the ability to support customers in a fast-changing IT environment.
• Hold or obtain SC and NPPV security clearances.
• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK; documentary evidence is required.
• Full and clean driving licence required.
• Self-motivated approach and awareness of recognised security practices.
• Offers are subject to satisfactory vetting, references, occupational health checks, and potentially DBS and additional SC/NPPV3 checks.

Nice to have

• Experience with Pulse Secure, Gemalto/Thales, or network automation.
• Knowledge of patching Windows and Unix operating systems.
