AI Risk Oversight Assistant Manager

Location: Hybrid in Halifax, Cardiff, Edinburgh, or Leeds, UK; at least two days per week or 40% of working time must be spent at an office site.

Salary: £57,150.00–£85,725.00 per year.

What you will do

• Support oversight reviews of AI systems, identifying risks and evaluating control effectiveness across lifecycle stages.
• Help develop assurance controls and monitor AI system usage, flagging governance gaps and critical issues.
• Document and communicate AI risk issues clearly to internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Track AI-related regulatory updates and support impact assessments.
• Align AI oversight activities with model governance and technology risk processes.

Requirements

• Relevant experience in model risk, AI governance, compliance, or technology risk.
• Foundational understanding of AI, ML, and GenAI risks across data use, model outputs, integration, and monitoring lifecycle stages.
• Good communication skills, including the ability to engage cross-functional teams and summarise technical risk findings clearly.
• Exposure to risk or governance frameworks in AI or technology domains.
• Familiarity with second-line risk functions or oversight roles supporting assurance, governance, or regulatory alignment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with security risks including data leakage, prompt injection, and adversarial threats.
• Knowledge of global AI regulations and compliance trends, including the EU AI Act and GDPR.
• Exposure to AI tooling or monitoring platforms such as Vertex AI, LLMOps, or model tracing tools.
• Exposure to ethical AI topics including fairness, accountability, and intellectual property risk.
