Head of Digital Delivery & Governance

Location: Woking, United Kingdom. Working pattern: onsite, 9am–6pm Monday to Friday.

What you will do

• Lead digital programmes from investment approval through launch, adoption, and handover into support.
• Lead, develop, and deploy project leads across the portfolio while establishing consistent planning, reporting, and risk standards.
• Coordinate product, experience, engineering, platform, business, and delivery partner teams through one integrated plan.
• Define and run proportionate governance, including stage gates, RAID, change control, release approval, and post-implementation reviews.
• Own business readiness for releases, including user acceptance testing, cutover, retailer readiness, training, communications, and support handover.
• Manage delivery partners, programme budgets, forecasts, CapEx and OpEx classification, benefits tracking, assurance, and executive reporting.

Requirements

• Substantial experience leading multi-team, multi-partner digital portfolios at scale from investment approval to benefit realisation.
• Proven experience designing and running delivery operating models and proportionate governance in a product-led organisation.
• Experience leading and developing project leads and programme managers across blended permanent and contract teams.
• Command of agile at scale and hybrid delivery, release management, and business readiness.
• Strong financial management experience, including budget ownership, forecasting, business cases, and benefits tracking.
• Proven ability to hold delivery partners to commercial and delivery commitments and establish demand management with senior stakeholders.
• Confidence presenting clear recommendations on trade-offs, risk, and investment to executive forums.
• Experience with portfolio and work management tools such as Jira and Confluence; CRM or retail platform delivery is advantageous.
• Ability to build trust, coordinate teams and partners, make decisions under pressure, and develop a durable delivery capability.
